Prea, the official local kitesurfing beach, is about 09 km from Jericoacoara, offers strong wind from July to December.
Prea is one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing. It is located 12 km east of Jericoacoara.
The region (National Park) is known for its warm tropical waters and onshore winds consistent side, the currents and wind speed onshore 15-30 year-round us. The highest waves get reach 2 meters and there are miles and miles of empty beaches, with no obstacles, rocks or dangerous objects to security in the kite.
The small fisherman village of Prea is in a stretch of 15 miles of beaches, with a huge coastline and the incredible wind conditions just perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
There are a couple of kitesurf schools in Jericoacoara and Prea and that offer professionals classes focused on their specific needs, from beginners to advanced.
The wind is constant, the wind is blow onshore from the right, EVERY DAY from August to January, with a force of Beaufort 4 +.
