PREA - KITESURFING

JERICOACOARA NATIONAL PARK HAVE PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR PRACTICE KITESURFING AT ALL LEVELS - THE BEACH OF PREA OFFERS WINDS AND CURRENT SIDE ON-SHORE.

There are several spots to practice kitesurfing in the National Park of Jericoacoara, providing perfect conditions for both beginners and advanced, with winds ranging from "off-shore side" a "side on shore depending on location. For the adventurous there are the famous Kitesurfaris, travel to various locations and conditions of sailing around the Ceará. Important to know that the beach of Jericoacoara (central beach) is intended primarily to windsurfing and practice of joint 2 sports can be dangerous in places with many athletes.

In general, the kite is practiced in the vicinity of Guriú beach (3 km west from the main beach) and on PREA BEACH (3 km east from Jericoacoara) where a good structure for the Sailor and winds of up to 40 knots in December. Prea was elected official kitesurfing beach.

THE WIND IN PREA:

The average wind speed is 15 to 30 knot from June to January. We recommend kite sizes between 8m and 12m for the average individual and 6m to 10m for women. There are a handful of days of light, in June, December and January, where you could use up to 15m. The wind in Prea beach is perfect side on shore.

THE WAVES IN PREA:

The waves are affected by wind and wave phase of the moon. The full moon, usually leads to better swell. The highest waves reach 2 meters. The downwinders are absolutely spectacular because there are miles and miles of wide open beaches. Low tide qualifies flatter water and a few secret spots with water very smooth.
